Master Gottfried Roser
Master Roser has a long and interesting career as a martial artist, spanning across his life of 51 years…
Earning an actual title of “Grandmaster”, because of his 44+ years experience and 30 years teaching, he is rated in the top 1% of martial artists in the world and is one of the foremost talented, skilled, and highly educated instructors in the world today! Grandmaster Bob Wall even labeled him as “The Real Deal”.
Master Roser is retired military intelligence and continues instructing security forces, law enforcement, military and government personnel. He encourages his students to become masters as well and to assist teaching in these classes.
How did it all begin?
Moving in Texas with his parents in the early ’70s, when martial arts was just gaining popularity in America, Master Roser had an incident with a Korean boy who he had befriended at school. Walking home from school they were accosted by the school bully and his groupies. Master Roser watched in amazement as his new Korean friend made short work of the bully…and the others? Well, they all ran away. That was the defining moment in Master Roser’s life when he knew what he wanted to do the rest of his life. Teach to empower others!
Continuing his training through the end of high school with his friend’s father, who was a martial arts master, he was able to learn it very quickly due to his natural talent and his passion for it. He eventually moved to Korea in 1990 after college and lived there for 10 years training under the Grandmaster for a deeper learning of Hapkiyoosool, returning to the US in 2000 opening his own school.
There, in that school, Master Roser was able to grow a very deep understanding about teaching as he learned so much from his students. Master Roser is often quoted saying, “My instructors taught me all I know and my students teach me what I don’t.” It is this humble attitude and his undying passion that has brought Master Roser to the level he has achieved. He always gives his students the credit for shaping him into the teacher he is today.
His following continues to expand today as he incorporates Asian and Western medical and scientific knowledge to his teachings, as well as training and teaching seminars to professional martial arts instructors worldwide who enjoy learning Master Roser’s very own system (or way of teaching). Master Roser was blessed to be the founder of his own system of teaching by his teacher during a 2010 three week visit in Korea with his own students.
Master Roser has a world renowned reputation and you’ll love his no-frills approach to serious, real-world focused style of teaching. His unique scientifically and medically focused teaching methods have proven themselves as they adapt to every new and rising situation.
